Funny you mention that you cut yourself more often with the Matrix3, as I'm currently sporting a three-blade gash on my chin (three perfect lines corresponding perfectly with the dimensions of the blade) from when I got a little careless with the razor yesterday.

I also notice that I'm only getting about 4-5 days use out of one blade nowadays whereas I used to get a week's use. But I chalk that up mostly to my face, which has more than likely adapted to it.

Still, as three-blade experiences go, I still think the Matrix3 is on par with...if not better...than the Gillette option. Factor in that it's about 33% cheaper than Gillette, and I'll still go with the Matrix3 every time.

Tom,

I hesitated a long time until letting everybody know... I have mixed experiences with the matrix razor. First I cut myself more often that with the Gillette blades. By now, that is not so much of a problem anymore, probably because I am more careful. On the other hand, the matrix blades become blunt much more quickly. When Gillette came up with the 3 blade models, I thought: "Damn, this is expensive, but at least they last much longer than the 2 blade models." Now I haven't tried the 4/5 blade models yet, but if they outlast the matrix by far, I would consider getting those... I am still not convinced by either solution...

It looks like here in Switzerland they are imported and re-branded by Coop, a big retailer...

It's about time that a generic company put out a razor equivalent in quality to Gillette. Only problem with the Matrix3 is that it's made by "Equaline" and can only be found at Albertsons' related stores (ACME, etc.)
